DESCRIPTION:TAIKOPROJECT is pleased to present the 2014 World Taiko Gatheri
 ng\, the  first-ever convening of taiko groups from all over the world\, s
 cheduled for July 18-20\, 2014.  Presented by TAIKOPROJECT in association 
 with the Japanese American Cultural &amp\; Community Center\,  the Japanes
 e American National Museum\, and the Southern California Taiko Community\,
  the 2014 World  Taiko Gathering is expected to bring together over 500 pa
 rticipants from taiko groups throughout the  U.S.\, Canada\, Mexico\, Euro
 pe\, Asia\, South America\, and Australia.  Activities will include three 
 days of workshops\, discussion sessions\,  taiko performances\, and commun
 ity-building activities.  \n \n Dozens of taiko workshops will be offered 
 by the top instructors and  taiko artists from all over the world for taik
 o drummers of all skill  levels and interests. Attendees will have access 
 to the Taiko  Marketplace\, with drums and equipment from the finest Japan
 ese and  American taiko makers and artisans. There will be free noon-time 
 taiko  performances on each day of the World Taiko Gathering\, as well as 
 a free  community taiko concert on the JACCC Plaza\, and a global taiko co
 ncert  at the Japan America Theatre\, featuring premiere taiko ensembles f
 rom  all over the world sharing one stage for the very first time.  \n \n
