DESCRIPTION:Of our season’s offerings\, the fall concert is perhaps the m
 ost wide-open\, offering more creative space for our performers and a grea
 ter diversity of work for our audience to enjoy. It also means a chance to
  see the largest drums--the Okedo and the Odaiko--on stage\, and the full 
 company performing together.\n\nMaking Waves will feature the varied voice
 s of four of Portland Taiko’s musicians\, each premiering new work in th
 e concert: Dan Chin\, Karen Tingey\, Toru Watanabe\, and Portland Taiko Ar
 tistic Director Michelle Fujii.\n\nMaking Waves will be performed this Sep
 tember 29th and 30th at Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall. Some o
 f our fans might recognize the title of this fall show\; in fact\, Making 
 Waves was the name of an annual concert Portland Taiko offered in years pa
 st. We are revisiting the title as a nod to the past\, interpreted as a re
 flection of new work and our current voice\, for the sense of timelessness
