Textbook: Jap anese For Busy People\, Vol. I.\n\nBeginning Japanese Level II Time: Thursday evenings\, 7:30-9:30 p.m\n\nA continuation of Begin ning Japanese Level I\, this course will build upon previously learned bas ic elements of Japanese grammar and expressions. Writing system will inclu de a review of katakana\, hiragana\, and an introduction to basic Chinese characters (Kanji). After completion of this class\, your level will be comparable to the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Level 4.Textbooks: Japanese For Busy People\, Vol. I (from Lesson 16) and Basic Kanji Book\, Vol. I.\n\nIntermediate Japanese Level I Time: Monday evenings\, 7:30-9:30 p.m. \n\nDesigned for students whose level is comparable to passing the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Level 4\, or have completed Japanese For Busy People\, Vol. Ⅰ. Emphasis is on gramma tical expressions\, basic conversation\, and development of Chinese charac ters (kanji)\, up to approximately 100 characters. This class will provide a forum for basic Japanese conversation between students and instructor. Topics of conversation will be determined by the instructor\, along with various reading assignments. This class will prepare students for Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Le vel 3. Textbook: Japanese For Busy People\, Ⅲ (from Lesson 9) and variou s handouts.\n\nAdvanced Japanese Time: Tue sday evenings\, 6:00-8:00 p.m. \n\nObjective of this class is 1.) to deve lop an ability to carry an extensive conversation with native Japanese spe akers\, 2.) be able to read Japanese newspapers and 3.) acquire a well bal anced knowledge about Japanese culture and way of life. The first hour of class will be dedicated to grammar development\, utilizing kanji. Students will use the textbook Japanese for Busy People Vol. III. The second hour of the class will focus on conversation only. After completion of this cl ass\, your level will be comparable to the Japanese-Language Proficiency T est Level 2.
