Sashiko Basics: Introduction Workshop for Beginners

Join JACCC for a hands-on sashiko workshop led by Sanae Suzuki. Explore the beauty and tradition of Japanese embroidery while receiving a Material Kit, which includes:

  • Sashiko Threads (color: indigo/royal blue) 20m
  • Sashiko Needles (2/pack, sizes: 1 15/16" and 2 5/8")
  • 6-inch 8ths Graph Ruler
  • Heat Erasable Rollerball Pen
  • Small Sewing Scissors
  • Sarashi Natural Cotton Cloth

Under Sanae’s guidance, you’ll dive into the history of sashiko, master the "Unshin" stitching technique, and learn to create the hitomezashi (rice stitch) pattern. Experience how sashiko can calm your mind and spark your creativity, one stitch at a time.
