An Exhibition of Japanese Canadian Legacies Community Fund Arts Recipients
On view July 9 to September 5, 2025 | Opening Reception July 9, 6:30 - 10PM

The JCCC Gallery's new exhibit, Shifting Skies, Changing Forms evocatively examines very personal and family histories and the translation of these experiences through generations. The artists in the show explore history, identity, transformation, and reconstruction, not only of historical materials but also of our understanding of how this difficult and complex past has influenced identity, sense of self, and artistic expression.

Please join us for the official opening on July 9th at 6:30 PM. Because of the multi-disciplinary nature of this exhibition, the opening is presented in 3 parts, the screening, the art performances and the gallery exhibit. Guests are welcome to attend all or only part of the evening.

The official opening will include a pre-reception special screening and premiere of Tamiko Potts' film, When the Blossoms Fade, and presentations by our performance-based artists in Kobayashi Hall. The opening will then move to the gallery to view the rest of the exhibition and for the reception.
