Australian writer Christine Piper won the Vogel’s Literary Award for her novel After Darkness, about a doctor who worked in a secret research lab linked to Unit 731.
Kawamura Kazuyuki, a former Shinjuku Ward councillor, has tackled the human bones issue for decades and written a book about events leading to the founding of Unit 731.
