Description:

In this talk, professors Eric M. Adams and Jordan S. Stanger-Ross preview their book in progress, Exile: A Legal History of the Expulsion of Japanese Canadians. With close attention to the people who made the exile policy, the lawyers and judges who decided its fate, and the Japanese Canadians expelled from home, the book asks readers to see the uprooting an internment of Japanese Canadians in a new light: one that focuses attention not on how the policy began, but rather the depths to which it eventually sank.
