Washi Sisters is a group exhibition by a collective of six artists (Bunni Brosver, Sharon Dembo, Sharron Corrigan Forrest, Dominique Provost, Susan Ruptash, Noriko Yamamoto) who each explore the special qualities of Heritage Washi, versatile papers still made by hand in Japan after 1400 years!

This exhibition, Washi Sisters: A journey, runs from October 5 to 23 at Propeller Art Gallery (30 Abell St., Toronto), and is finally happening after a number of postponements due to the pandemic.

We have a number of exciting events planned – both in gallery and via Zoom, you can find details on the website. If you can’t make it to the gallery, you can also check out the online exhibition launching on October 5.

Noriko Yamamoto will be doing a short performance of a work that she created specifically for this exhibition opening on Saturday October 8th.
