Contemporary Asian Theater Scene and JAMsj present Summer Hangout Series: Stage Readings . This program engages high school and college aged actors to experience plays written by Asian American playwrights. This theater exercise will showcase a pivotal moment in the young thespian endeavor.

In Leah Nanako Winkler’s GOD SAID THIS a mother is diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. The father is a recovering alcoholic seeking redemption, and the two daughters are struggling to overcome their differences. Forced together in a time of need, these estranged people come face to face with their own mortality.

Presented by Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) and Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj)

COVID-19 Protocols: At this time, we will follow Santa Clara County's strong recommendation and require patrons to wear a mask in the exhibit area (unless eating or drinking) regardless of vaccination status and to show ID plus proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of a negative COVID test (PCR method) taken within seventy-two hours of the performance for entry.
