22nd Japan Festival 2019

KENREN – Federation of Associations of Japanese Provinces in Brazil, will hold the 22nd edition of the Japan Festival on July 5, 6 and 7, 2019 at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (Rodovia dos Imigrantes, km 1.5), in São Paulo. The event aims to preserve and promote Japanese culture and maintain traditions for new generations, representing the 47 provinces that make up the country and assisting community charities. The event is organized by a committee made up of volunteers, with the official collaboration of the Japanese government, in addition to the support of the City of São Paulo, the State Government of São Paulo and the Ministry of Culture. There are more than 15,000 volunteers working throughout the event! The Japan Festival is considered the largest Japanese cultural event in the world and received a total of 215,000 visitors in its 21st edition, 59% of whom were not of Japanese descent. One of the most anticipated and sought-after parts of the Japan Festival is our Gastronomy Square, with stands from the 47 provinces of Japan, representing the typical cuisine of each region, and charitable entities from the Nikkei community of São Paulo.
