Time: 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.


The West Covina Buddhist Temple Obon Festival will be held at the East San Gabriel Japanese Community Center.

Delicious traditional foods such as chicken teriyaki, sushi, somen, and gyoza; as well as their popular chow mein, asian chicken salad, tamales, shave ice ad delicious desserts. There will also be fun games for kids of all ages. Martial arts demonstrations and traditional Japanese dance and taiko performances throughout the day.

Obon dancing will begin at 7:00pm and everyone is invited to join in for the fun!

Obon Schedule:

6:30pm: Manto-e (rememberance lantern) service

7:00pm: Ondo dancing
