Ikigai - Uniting Generations The splendor of Japanese culture presented through the drum dance (taiko) originating from Okinawa. In the show, the Curitiba branch of the folk group RyukyuKoku Matsuri Daiko takes the stage to celebrate 10 years of foundation and the legacy of artistic traditions from the islands south of Japan that has been passed down from generation to generation. “Ikigai” means reason for being, the concept translates the identity of the group, which in its performances reveals essentially Okinawan virtues, such as the appreciation of joy and respect for life.
