Book launch for Joy Kogawa, one of Canada's pre-imminent poets and novelists. Gently to Nagasaki is a much awaited memoir that chronicles the Nisei writer's remarkable life from her birth in Vancouver, BC, the WW2 internment of her family along with the entire coastal BC population of 22,000 Japanese Canadians, the fight for Redress and her life afterwards including being awarded the Order of Canada in 2006. 
This is a free event.
