In- flight screening periodANA : October 1st, 2013 (Tuesday) - December 31st, 2013 (Tuesday) Hawaiian Airlines: October 1st, 2013 (Tuesday) - September 30th, 2014 (Tuesday) About the documentary film Daniel Inouye, a giant of the Japanese American community, passed away last December. About 70 years ago, after the outbreak of war between Japan and the United States, Mr. Inouye was treated as an "enemy national" despite being an American. Based on his belief that "Japanese people are good and loyal Americans just like other citizens," he embarked on the path of politics, an unexplored world for Japanese people at the time, and continued to open up "new territory for Japanese people living in America." This documentary film delves into the trajectory of Senator Inouye, who became the first Japanese American to be elected to the U.S. Congress and survived turbulent times as a pioneer of the Japanese American community in America, through valuable testimonies obtained from nationwide interviews and interviews with the man himself.
