The Long Beach Public Library and Cal Humanities present author Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston on Saturday, July 7 at 1:00PM in the Main Library Auditorium. Houston was seven years old in 1942 when her family was uprooted from their Long Beach home and fishing business and relocated to the Manzanar Internment Camp. Farewell to Manzanar provides her unique perspective on this chapter in our history. Free event. 

This event is made possible through the California Reads program, Searching for Democracy, with support from Cal Humanities, in partnership with California Center for the Book.
