Nikkei Matsuri Presents An Evening of 'Music From The Heart'
Featuring Ayako Hosokawa
7:00-9:00pm
San Jose Buddhist Betsuin Gymnasium

As a well known vocalist in the Bay Area Japanese American community, Ayako shares her love of music and song with a variety of popular and contemporary American music that she has grown to love during her international music career.  This evening, she will be accompanied by:  Shota Okabe, Bob Kenmotsu, Ken Okada and Rich Alegria. 

A portion of the concert proceeds will be donated to JCCCNC's Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. Tickets are $15 and are available from Nikkei Traditions-San Jose Japantown, Wesley Methodist Church, Yu Ai Kai and Nikkei Matsuri Board Members.

35th Annual Nikkei Matsuri in San Jose Japantown.
Located in the heart of San Jose Japantown (Jackson Street between 4th and 6th streets).
9:30 am - 4:00 pm

The sound of taiko drums!  The smells of delicious food!  Join the entire community to celebrate Japanese American culture and heritage at this day long festival for all ages.  Enjoy a full day of authentic Japanese food, performing arts on two stages, cultural exhibits and arts & crafts from vendors throughout the West Coast and Hawaii. Other Activities include Japantown Farmer's Market, Health Fair (hosted by Yu Ai Kai), Kodomo No Hi (Children's Day at the Japanese American Museum of San Jose) and children's crafts at Wesley Methodist Church (hosted by Suzume No Gakko).

Kristi Yamaguchi will sign copies of her latest book:  "It's A Big World, Little Pig'.  Book sales begin at 10:00am at the Information Booth.  Book must be pre-purchased for this signing.  Quantities are limited.
