2012 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival

Date: March 23, 2012 – April 21, 2012


On March 23, the festivities begin with the Blossom Bash at the Hyatt at the Bellevue – a black-tie optional evening affair with live entertainments, auctions and so much more.  From April 9-13, Japanese Culture Week returns with demonstrations and activities for the whole family. The highlights of the season - Cherry Blossom 5K and Sakura Sunday will be held on Sunday, April 15 at Fairmount Park’s Horticulture Center.  The Tamagawa Taiko Drum Group and the Harajuku Fashion Show will be back on the stage and your favorite crafts and activities will be back as well.

New events this year include back to back theater nights. Philadelphia’s first ever Kabuki performance will be on stage at the Kimmel Center March 25. On March 26, International House Philadelphia will host a comedic kyogen troop.
