Interreligious Ceremony for Japan Earthquake

Date: April 16, 2011


A memorial interreligious ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 7PM at the St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church in Chinatown (218 W. Alexander St.) followed by a fellowship reception. Participants from the Chicago Buddhist Temple, Konko-kyo as well as members of Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic Churches and the Muslim community will represent their religious counterparts in Japan through their Scriptures or religious traditions. Bishop Francis Kane will deliver the homily.

Light refreshments will be served. Parking facilities opposite Three Happiness Restaurant on 209 W Cermak Rd. There will be an opportunity to make donations for the relief efforts through Catholic Relief Services.
