Fujima Shunojo - Founder and Artistic Director
For 34 years, Fujima Sensei has taught and performed Japanese classical dance. Now, as an artist in residence of the JASC, he offers instruction in shinbuyo minyo. This fusion consists of three elements: Japanese enka music, minyo, with its simple, repeated dance patterns, and classical dance based choreography, which reflects the narrative quality of enka songs.
