The Okinawan Festival is held annually on Labor Day weekend at Kapiolani Park and attracts more than 50,000 visitors.  This year’s Festival offers a continuous entertainment program at Kapiolani Park Bandstand on Saturday and Sunday, which includes performers from Okinawa.

Enjoy continuous live performances by entertainers from Okinawa and local Okinawan groups from Hawaii. Bon Dance at Kapiolani Park Field: 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Pull out your kimono and happi coats and join the HUOAcommunity at theannual Festival Bon Dance! Hundreds of participants dancethe night awayhonoring their ancestors. Don't worry about not knowing how to bondance,bon dancing is not only fun, it is easy to learn!

In addition, a wide variety of local Okinawan foods including andagi (donuts), soba (noodles) and a special Okinawan plate will tempt your palette.  There will also be games for children, a Cultural Tent (learn about Okinawan Culture), a Heiwa Dori (selling Okinawan and Japanese food products), and a Craft Gallery (featuring local artisans and crafters).
