Uchinanchu, come learn about your heritage and explore what it means to be Okinawan. Uchinanchu-at-Heart, come learn about Okinawa and become a part of the Hawaii Okinawa community.
Award-winning storyteller Alton Chung will premiere his new program that explores the question, "What is it to be Uchinanchu?" Okinawan attitudes, values and heart will be exemplified thru tales set during WWII, including Himeyuri and Pigs from the Sea. With Derek Ichiro Shiroma on sanshin and Frances Nakachi Kuba with new choreographed dances.

Ongoing entertainment, food, lessons and talk story until 7 pm. Okinawan, Japanese and Hawaiian ghost stories performed by Alton Chung from 7-9 pm.
