1:30-3:00 p.m. Taiko Workshop

$35 Members/ $40 Non-Members  

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water. 

Bachi (drumming sticks) will be provided for use at the workshop.

 

Minimum 10 participants. Maximum 20 participants.  

Ages 15 and older. 

 Join Japan America Society of Chicago members and guests for an exclusive taiko (Japanese drum) workshop with Amy Homma, Head Instructor and Tatsu Aoki, Artistic Director of Tsukasa Taiko. Workshop will include a taiko demonstration and lecture presentation on Japanese history, music and culture. Participants will have an opportunity to learn basic drumming beats and techniques and will be able to perform a short piece at the end of the session.

 

シ カゴ日米協会の皆さんと一緒に太鼓ワークショップを体験してみませんか。ワークショップでは、シカゴ地域で有名な司太鼓のヘッドインストラクターの本間永 実氏とアートディレクターを務める青木達幸氏からご指導をいただきます。太鼓の実演、日本の歴史に始まり、実際の太鼓を叩くテクニックを学び、最後には短 い曲の演奏をめざします。お子様は15歳以上から参加歓迎いたします。
