Let's build our family trees

Community Event
In Person
Museo de la Inmigración Japonesa al Perú “Carlos Chiyoteru Hiraoka”
Centro Cultural Peruano Japonés 2º piso. Av. Gregorio Escobedo 803, Res. San Felipe, Jesús María, Peru

Date: Nov. 1, 2008 – Dec. 31, 2008

What year did our grandfather or great-grandfather come to Peru? In which prefecture of Japan was he born? How many children did he have? Who are my relatives? Knowing and documenting data like this helps us build our own family memory. Precisely, the Museum of Japanese Immigration to Peru "Carlos Chiyoteru Hiraoka", after the campaigns to collect objects and compile testimonies, calls for the third campaign, which aims for each Nikkei family to create their family tree. With this, it seeks to motivate each family to save and preserve information about their ancestors, mainly from those who immigrated to Peru. On the other hand, the Museum seeks to collect and preserve this valuable information, which will serve as an important source of documentation of the process of Japanese immigration to Peru. Those interested in collaborating with this campaign and thus learn more about their past can contact the "Carlos Chiyoteru Hiraoka" Museum. The campaign runs until December 31.
