Linda Furiya, author of Bento Box in the Heartland: My Japanese Girlhood in Whitebread America, comes to Chicago for an event co-sponsored by the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) and the Japan American Society of Chicago. The author will read excerpts from her book and talk about growing up in Versailles, Indiana, as well as other creative influences.

Linda Furiya's book reading and presentation will take place at the JASC (4427 N. Clark Street, Chicago) on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, from 7 to 8:15 pm. Admission is free. Copies of Bento Box in the Heartland will be available for purchase at the event.
