“Bunka no Hi” continues its programming this Sunday - November 18th

Community Event
In Person
Pavilhão Japonês do Parque do Ibirapuera
Próximo ao portão 10 do Parque do Ibirapuera São Paulo, Brazil

Date: Nov. 25, 2007

Bunka no Hi (Culture Day) continues its musical program this Sunday, with a performance by singer Márcia Mitiko Nakabayashi, performing popular Japanese songs ( minna no uta ) such as “Sakura” (Cherry Blossoms) and “Akatombo” (Red Dragonflies). During the performance at the Pavilion, Márcia will be accompanied by pianist Andrei Fossari, a former partner with whom she has formed a duo on other occasions, and saxophonist Denis Shima. During her musical training, Márcia had teachers such as Consiglia Latorre and Marcia Alvim. She began her career singing “Enka”, performed international “Pop” songs and recently began performing Brazilian popular music. The event was inspired by Bunka no Hi, which takes place in Japan in early November, and aims to diversify the activities held at the Pavilion. In addition to the scheduled activities, the pavilion itself is an attraction for visitors as it is an example of the most authentic Japanese architecture. In the outdoor area there is a Japanese garden and on the second floor there is a large balcony, which is located over an impressive koi pond, providing a beautiful view of the colors of the fish, which seem to dance before the eyes of visitors. Culture Day continues next Sunday, on November 25, with pianist Erci Kimie Inokuchi who will perform music associated with music therapy, and on December 2 there will be a solo koto concert with Fernando Neves. Bunka no Hi Date: November 25 Time: 11 am to 12 pm Location: Japanese Pavilion at Ibirapuera Park – Near gate 10 of Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo Admission: R$ 3.00 (adults) and R$ 2.00 (students) More information on the website: www.bunkyo.org.br
