Boys Festival

Community Event
In Person
Pavilhão Japonês no Parque do Ibirapuera
São Paulo, Brazil

Date: May 5, 2007 – May 6, 2007

Time: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Brazilian Society of Japanese Culture and Social Assistance - Bunkyo, is holding the traditional Boys' Festival in the first week of May. Exhibitions, workshops and presentations will be held during the two days of the event. The exhibitions will feature Koinobori, Yoroi Kabuto, Gogatsu Ninguio, castle models, Nishikigoi and Manga Caricatures. The workshops include Origami, Manga, Tako, the "Kimono Corner" already held at the girls' festival, and a toy exhibition. Kenjutsu and Taiko will be featured in the presentations. This is a traditional event in the Nikkei community, held in one of the great symbols of the Japanese-Brazilian community, the Japanese Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park. For those who are not familiar with the pavilion, this is a great opportunity to get to know the place and also take the opportunity to learn more about traditional elements of Japanese culture. The event will be held at the Japanese Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park on May 5th and 6th from 10am to 5pm. There is parking near gate 3.
