Renowned Argentine pianist to perform a piece by a renowned Japanese composer in Buenos Aires Next Wednesday, August 23 at 8:30 p.m. at the Belgrano Auditorium (Virrey Loreto and Cabildo), the young and international Argentine pianist Horacio Lavandera will offer a concert in which he will perform the composition "Twilight Zone" by the Japanese composer Atsuhiko Gondai, among other pieces. The funds raised will go to the works that LALCEL, ASARCA and the Angel Roffo Oncology Institute Foundation carry out in the fight against cancer. Tickets will cost $30, $20 and $15. Horacio Lavandera was born in Buenos Aires in 1984. At the age of 16, he won the III Umberto Micheli International Piano Competition, held in Milan, Italy. He was awarded the "Best Piano and Orchestra Performer" prize by the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scalla. He has been invited by prestigious orchestras, as well as to give recitals in America, Europe and Asia. In 2000 he recorded his first CD entitled "Debut", which includes works by Mozart, Chopin, Berg and Ginastera. In 2002 he recorded Beethoven's Concerto No. 4 live with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, during their inaugural tour. His latest CD includes works by Bach, Brahms and Beethoven, recorded live in 2005.
