The 28th Tanabata Matsuri will take place this year on July 29th and 30th. Also known as the Festival of the Stars, this is one of the largest traditional Japanese festivals to be held in Brazil. This year, the festival adopts the themes JAPAN IN BRAZIL and the CENTENARY OF JAPANESE IMMIGRATION TO BRAZIL (the centenary of Japanese immigration to Brazil will be in 2008).
