 Lone Pine in the Owens Valley of California is the National Historic monum
 ent of Manzanar. Manzanar was the first of ten wartime camps established b
 y the U.S. government in 1942 to "relocate" and intern Japanese Americans 
 living on the West Coast. The camp population exceeded 10\,000\, which mad
 e it the largest town in the Owens Valley during the war.\n\nThis photogra
 phic exhibit examines and illustrates what physically remains today of the
  traces of the people who were imprisoned. All the photos are black and wh
 ite and represent many visits to the site over a period of three years in 
 the late nineties.\n\nExhibit on view from December 1\, 2007 through Febru
