 , October 6\, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gardena JCI Hall.\n\nMrs. Houston\,
  the youngest of ten children\, was born in Inglewood\, CA\, and spent her
  childhood in Southern California until 1942\, when she and her family wer
 e uprooted from their home and interned at Manzanar. The film\, based on M
 rs. Houston&rsquo\;s compelling memoir about the Japanese-American Internm
 ent experience\, as seen through the eyes of a young girl\, is a haunting 
 reminder of how our civil rights are at risk in moments of crisis. The fil
 m\, originally made for television and rarely seen in 36 years will be pre
 sented by the Japanese American National Museum.\n\nThis California Reads
