 I is an intergenerational group of predominantly Nikkei musicians\, artist
 s\, dancers\, students\, educators\, researchers and community activists\,
  who share a common goal: to explore and celebrate the parallel histories 
 and lives of people of Japanese and Okinawan ancestry in Cuba and the US. 
  In August\, 2005\, nineteen Tsukimi Kai members\, aged 12 to 86\, travele
 d to Cuba to participate in the obon festivities on the Isle of Youth\, pe
 rform taiko drumming and obon dancing in three cities and conduct intervie
 ws of Nikkei Cubans.  Through cultural exchange and dialogue\, we reach ac
 ross the boundaries of physical space\, language\, culture\, history and p
 olitics to build peace\, friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people.\
 n\nJAM WORKSHOP's mission is to help strengthen and build a culture which 
 reflects the lives and serves the needs of the Asian American/Pacific Isla
 nder communities through the offering of art programs that develop the art

 y (NJAHS)\, founded in 1980 in San Francisco\, is a non-profit membership-
