In August\, 2005\, nineteen Tsukimi Kai members\, aged 12 to 86\, travele d to Cuba to participate in the obon festivities on the Isle of Youth\, pe rform taiko drumming and obon dancing in three cities and conduct intervie ws of Nikkei Cubans. Through cultural exchange and dialogue\, we reach ac ross the boundaries of physical space\, language\, culture\, history and p olitics to build peace\, friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people.\ n\nJAM WORKSHOP's mission is to help strengthen and build a culture which reflects the lives and serves the needs of the Asian American/Pacific Isla nder communities through the offering of art programs that develop the art istic expression of these communities.
